Cookie Policy

Updated 22 September 2026. Tymbra uses a small number of browser technologies to remember a reader’s cookie choice and support basic operation. We do not use cookies to create financial profiles or to personalise investment advertising.

This notice explains what may be stored, why it is used, how long it lasts, and how a visitor can change a choice. A cookie is a small text value associated with a browser, not a document containing the contents of a reader’s device. The exact availability of a cookie can vary by browser, device, cache, and hosting configuration. Reading ordinary editorial pages remains possible when optional cookies are declined.

1. Essential delivery

Session cookies may be used by hosting infrastructure while a page is delivered. They generally expire when the browser session ends and do not create a reader account.

These values may support routing, load balancing, security checks, or a stable delivery session. They are not intended to reveal which articles a reader prefers. A browser may retain a session value briefly after a tab closes, depending on its settings, but the normal lifespan is the active session. Blocking them can affect page delivery or cause a repeated security check.

2. Cookie choice

The cookieChoice item records accept or reject for 12 months. It is stored in the browser so the banner does not repeatedly interrupt the same reader.

The value normally contains a limited choice such as accepted, rejected, or unset, together with a consent-version reference. It does not contain a contact message, password, private key, or advertising profile. When the policy changes materially, the version can be replaced and the banner may appear again. Clearing site data removes the value and resets the choice.

3. Optional measurement

If anonymous measurement is introduced, it will be described before activation. Such cookies may use a 13-month lifespan and will not be enabled when a reader rejects optional cookies.

Measurement would be limited to aggregate information such as page loading errors, broad device category, and page counts. It would not be used to infer financial interests or to follow a reader across unrelated sites. Any named provider, purpose, transfer arrangement, and retention period would be added to this notice before activation. Consent can be withdrawn through browser controls or a later preference mechanism.

4. Browser controls

You can clear cookies, block them, or receive warnings through browser settings. Blocking essential storage may cause the preference banner to return.

Most browsers provide controls under privacy, security, or site settings. Private browsing generally deletes some values when its window closes but does not make a network request anonymous. Device-level controls may apply separately from browser-level controls. After changing a setting, reload the page to confirm the new behavior.

5. Third parties

Embedded or linked services may set their own cookies when you leave Tymbra. Their practices are controlled by their own notices.

A third-party destination may use identifiers, analytics, authentication, or embedded media technologies that Tymbra cannot administer. The fact that a page links to a service does not mean that its cookies are active on Tymbra. Review the destination notice before continuing. Report unexpected behavior with the page address and approximate time.

6. Consent

Where applicable, consent is recorded through the banner. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to editorial pages.

A refusal is treated as a valid preference for the stated period unless the visitor changes it. Consent is not inferred merely because a reader scrolls, opens an article, or continues browsing. Essential delivery values are distinguished from optional measurement values. A consent record may be retained only as long as needed to demonstrate the choice.

7. Retention

Choice data lasts 12 months unless deleted sooner. Server security records may remain for up to 90 days.

When the 12-month period ends, the choice may be requested again. Aggregate technical records, if used, follow the retention period disclosed for that tool. Security retention can be extended where a specific incident requires investigation or a lawful hold. Expired values are removed through routine configuration or browser deletion.

Questions about personal information or cookie handling can be sent to Tymbra at the contact details below.

Visitors may ask what information is associated with a browser choice, request correction where a record is inaccurate, or ask for deletion where no lawful retention duty applies. We may request enough context to locate the request without asking for unnecessary identity documents. Ordinary requests are acknowledged within seven calendar days and normally answered within 30 days.

9. Changes

This policy was published and reviewed on 22 September 2026. Future changes will be dated on this page.

A change log may describe a new provider, cookie name, purpose, lifespan, or consent method. Material changes will not be hidden in unrelated editorial content. The review date is kept current so a reader can assess whether an older saved copy remains useful. Earlier choices are not silently treated as consent to a materially different purpose.

Include the browser, approximate date, page, and question if you are reporting unexpected storage. Do not send passwords, recovery phrases, or other confidential credentials. Tymbra aims to acknowledge a cookie question within seven calendar days.

Control, retention, and providers

Visitors can review or remove cookie values through the privacy controls offered by their browser. Blocking optional measurement does not prevent access to the editorial archive, although essential delivery values may still be required for routing or security.

The cookieChoice item lasts 12 months unless it is cleared earlier or replaced after a material change. Session delivery values normally expire when the browsing session ends. If anonymous measurement is enabled, aggregated event records are retained for no longer than 14 months and are not used to identify a named reader. Hosting, security, and analytics providers may process these limited values on Tymbra’s behalf under their own documented safeguards.

Some providers may process technical data outside the Republic of Korea. Tymbra considers contractual safeguards and limits the information shared to what is needed for delivery, security, or aggregate measurement.
